"Safaricom is very committed to work with the artistes of this country. I'm asking all the organizations around the copyright space please make this clear and simple. We have a platform. It is a great platform. It gives you access to millions. Tens of millions of Kenyans. Before we did the collective management agreement with Safaricom, artistes were paid by CSPs, when we decided to go to the CMOs, we wanted to start at a place whereby Safarciom is bale to pay for the platform. We have a system that counts every download that is done of your song. We know to the last shilling and you can verify this. We have collected that money and we want to hand it over to you. We are going to have a bit of a difficult situation where Safaricom we are going to be required to verify who is a producer, who is a performer and this kind of thing. It is not a situation that we want. It is not a good situation. What we are promising the artiste is we are going to make our platform available to you."
